Description
Carrying the Royal Burgh Flag on Peat Hill This lead rider, one of four attendants to the Selkirk Standard Bearer, is proceeding along the north side of Peat Law during the Selkirk Common Riding. During the Riding of the Marches, a large mounted cavalcade visits the town’s boundaries before returning to the Market Place for the casting of the colours. The duty of carrying the flag is shared between the Standard Bearer and four attendants.
