Nederlands: Deze stokciter bestaat uit een rechte stok gemaakt van de hoofdnerf van een palmbladsoort. Er zijn 3 snaren van de palmhuid afgeschild, die in het midden door een houten kam worden opgehouden.
Hoewel dit instrument meestal als een harp-citer wordt geclassificeerd, is het eigenlijk een gewone (stok) citer, met een hoge kam. Omdat de snaren van hetzelfde materiaal zijn als de drager -in dit geval palmblad- wordt dit een 'idiochord' genoemd. De snaren zijn aan de uiteinden omwikkeld met ringen van palmvezeltouw om het instrument te stemmen. Onder de stok is een kalebas klankkast met een gekartelde rand bevestigd; deze wordt bij het bespelen tegen de borst gehouden waardoor deze mee resoneert. |
