Description
A fourteenth-century miniature manuscript depicting scenes from the life of Alexander the Great. In this illustration Alexander the Great and his troops arrive in Thessaly and receive gifts from a tyrant. The scene is depicted entirely in the fashion of the late Byzantine period (1204-1453). “Alexander Romance” in S. Giorgio dei Greci in Venice.
