Summary

Description
British Trolleybuses - Glasgow. On its way south to Clarkston on route 105, trolleybus TB116 is about to cross the Clyde at Victoria Bridge. It would have only a few more hours of life - this was the last day of trolleybus operation in Glasgow. Many such closures seemed to take place in dull or rainy conditions - this was an exception.

In the background can be seen the bridge over Stockwell Street carrying the railway lines out of St. Enoch Station. It has completely disappeared, as seen in 943601. Particularly noticeable is the general blackness of the buildings in 1967. This was typical of large towns and was the result of years of smoke laden atmosphere resulting from domestic and industrial burning of coal. For a slide show of British Trolleybuses in the late 60s, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=1773236&displayclass=slide

Trolleybus TB116 was a BUT 9613T, built in 1957/58.
