The death of Valentinianus Galates in a 9th-century Greek manuscript.

According to 5th-century Greek church historian Socrates Scholasticus, the death of Valentinianus Galates was punishment for the treatment his father, the Arian Christian emperor Valens, had given the Nicene Christian bishop Basil of Caesarea.
