Cavalry action south of the infantry fronts in the Battle of the Wilderness in the American Civil War. Gregg's 2nd Cavalry Division saved Wilson's 3rd Division from Confederate cavalry on two fronts, while Getty's infantry protected Hammond's cavalry regiment.
