Description The Atari 800, an 8-bit computer released by Atari in 1979. Based off the MOS 6502 microprocessor and custom video and sound processors, the Atari 800 was the first in a line of popular home computers. Later models include the 600XL, 800XL 65XE and 130XE, which featured various amounts of memory and expansion capability.
