The uploader has made a diligent web search over a period of months for identifiable images of Alexander Shimkin and has found none besides this one. At this time there is no free-use image known to the uploader.

Other information

Although booking photos created by the federal government are in the public domain, the status of mug shots created by local and state authorities varies. The uploader believes that a "fair use" tag is appropriate in the circumstances. This is not a commercial or press image. It almost certainly qualifies as a "public record" under the Alabama Code, which contains this definition: "All written, typed or printed books, papers, letters, documents and maps made or received in pursuance of law by the public officers of the state, counties, municipalities and other subdivisions of government in the transactions of public business and shall also include any record authorized to be made by any law of this state belonging or pertaining to any court of record or any other public record authorized by law or any paper, pleading, exhibit or other writing held with, in or by any such court, office, or officer."
