Date Verleihung des Marktwappens durch Kaiser Rudolf II. zugleich mit der Markterhebung am 11. Mai 1593; die Original-Urkunde ist verlorengegangen, der Text abschriftlich erhalten. - Erster Nachweis des Wappenbildes im Siegel mit der Umschrift S . GMAINES . MARCHT . WACZENKIRCHENN, Abdruck auf einem Akt vom 24. März 1677. - Ein Weg zur Kirche, der in späteren Wappenbeschreibungen bzw. Zeichnungen erscheint, ist weder im Wappenbrief-Text erwähnt, noch in den bekannten Siegeltypen zu sehen.
Object history Der goldene Panther in Blau deutet auf Georg Achaz von Losenstein, der als damaliger Inhaber der Herrschaft Weidenholz die Markterhebung und Wappenverleihung vom Kaiser erwirkte. - Die Kirche spricht für den Ortsnamen. - Mit der Aufnahme des Marktwappens durch die 1845 bzw. 1867 hier geborenen Bischöfe Franz Maria Doppelbauer und Johannes Maria Gföllner in ihre Amtswappen fanden die Wappenbilder von Waizenkirchen Eingang in die kirchliche Heraldik der Diözese Linz.
