Description
Blazon. On a disc Sable, a stylized Spartan helm and shoulder plate Brün, plumed Gules, above a burst of six conjoined lightning bolts Or, three points to dexter and three points to sinister, issuing from base a demi-sphere Azure, fimbriated and gridlined Argent; all within a narrow border Black.

Attached below the disc, a Red scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed “618TH AIR COMMUNICATIONS SQ” in Black letters.

Significance. Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The Spartan helmet signifies strength and determination in performing the unit’s assigned missions. The lightning bolt cluster suggests the Squadron’s ability to provide quick, effective and dedicated communication services. The globe alludes to the unit’s worldwide mission.
