![A black & white photo of the Toodyay Road Board Chambers building - formerly the Mechanics Institute - in Stirling Terrace. Since 1959 this building has been the home of the Toodyay Public Library. Centre to the façade beneath an attached adornment is the date. AD 1874. There are 3 doors at intervals - one to the left has Secretary's office sign above - the central door is a double one to either side of which is a window - one to right has a sign (possibly Public Library) on middle crossways panel. A child is standing to the centre and in front of central door. 2 pencil pines are either side of windows and a small shrub tree to left near street edge.](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d6/2001_976_Toodyay_Road_Board_offices_early_1950s.jpg/800px-2001_976_Toodyay_Road_Board_offices_early_1950s.jpg)
