Summary

Description

"This bicycle was made by the Coventry Machinists Company in their Cheylesmore factory, Coventry. By the 1880s the Coventry Machinists Company were using the trade name "Swift" for all their cycles.

It is Called a Safety Cycle because its shape makes it much safer to ride than the Penny Farthing bicycle which was being used by most cyclists at the time."
