Photograph of British 12 inch Mk IX Gun on Armstrong Mk II railway mounting.
AWM text reads : "Meaulte, France. c. 1916. A British Army railway mounted 12 inch naval gun being cleaned."
Comment : The location of the recoil buffers below the barrel and the pattern of the bogies with the frames outside the wheels identifies it as the Armstrong Mk II mounting.
