Here she signed her name inside quotation marks, which according to scholar Susan Stanford Friedman was her tendency at the time: "H.D. sometimes used quotation marks around her pen name in the 1910s and early 1920s, but eliminated the marks around "H.D." in her letters by the mid-1920s."
