And drinking now puts all that in serious jeopardy. Look, when you grow up and have children of your own, you'll understand. Starting from now on, things are going to be different here. In the short term, underage alcohol use can lead to bad decisionmaking, physical violence, and sexual assault. Long term, it can cause poor school performance, adverse health effects, and increase the likelihood of addiction in adulthood. And these are just a few examples. As parents, it's our responsibility to make sure our kids grow up safe and healthy, with a promising future.
