Eshkik Rural District (Persian: دهستان اشکیک), formerly Chukam Rural District (دهستان چوكام),[3] is in Chukam District of Khomam County, Gilan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Eshkik.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population (as a part of the former Khomam District of Rasht County) was 15,772 in 4,388 households.[5] There were 14,314 inhabitants in 4,572 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 13,533 in 4,576 households. The most populous of its 13 villages was Bala Mahalleh-ye Chukam (now the city of Chukam),[7] with 3,096 residents.[2]

In August 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Khomam County and divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Khomam as its capital and only city.[4] In March 2023, the village of Bala Mahalleh-ye Chukam in Chukam District was elevated to the status of a city as Chukam.[7]
