Ellison Litton Barber[1] is an American journalist and Washington, D.C.-based correspondent for Fox News Channel.[2][3][4][5]

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2012.[6]

Barber began her career as a staff writer for the website The Washington Free Beacon, responsible for reporting on the United States Congress. Barber then served as a general assignment reporter and the Prince George's County Deputy Bureau Chief for Washington's CBS affiliate, WUSA.[7] At WUSA, Barber reported on an array of stories,[8][9][10] including the 2015 Washington, D.C., mass killing of the Savopoulos family and their housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa, the March 2016 U.S. Capitol lock-down,[11] and the protests following the shooting of Terrence Sterling.[12][13]

She joined Fox News in April 2017, as a general assignment correspondent.[13][14]

In 2019, Barber reported on the political turmoil in Venezuela and the resulting refugee crisis in neighboring countries.[15] [16] She and her crew were reporting on the Venezuela-Colombia border when gunfire erupted near the Simón Bolívar International Bridge[17] and a thirty-minute shootout ensued.[18] [19] [20]

Alexander Ovechkin Interview

While at WUSA, Barber interviewed Washington Capitals' star Alexander Ovechkin during a snow blizzard.[21] The unintentional encounter went viral.[22] [23][24]

Barber is an avid fan of Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.[22]
