Edward Everett Bruen (June 26, 1859 – May 10, 1938) was a politicians who served as the first Mayor of East Orange, New Jersey.[1]

Biography
He was born on June 26, 1859, in Chatham Township, to Theodore Wood Bruen and Caroline D. Miller.[2][3] He served as the first Mayor of East Orange, New Jersey, from 1899 to 1905. In 1904 he was offered the position as president of Globe Security.[4] He died on May 10, 1938.

Born in Chatham, Mr. Bruen was a descendant of settlers there and of Obadiah Bruen, who went from Connecticut to Newark in 1666

The Mayor says that the position was offered to him two weeks ago, when he says, William Muirhead, the President, announced that something was "going to drop."
