Dheeraj Sharma is a professor of management and director of Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. He is a professor on lien from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad
Career
He has been director of the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak since 2017,[1][2][3][4] and is also a full professor on leave from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.[5] He is honorary professor of Jawahar Lal Nehru University India and University of Delhi, India. He is former associate editor of journal of marketing channels
Sharma has advised the prisons department of Punjab, state of Gujarat and state of Delhi on marketing of goods made by prisoners and modernisation of jails,[6][7] and has advised the Border Security Force and Central Reserve Police Force on stress avoidance, perception management, and effectiveness.[8]
Sharma is member of economic advisory council of Haryana[9] and a member of the task force for prospective and planning under the aegis of Haryana Governance Reforms Authority Haryana.[10]
Research
Sharma has been conferred the award of global thought leader by the Academy of Global Business Advancement, USA in 2019.[11] He has been involved in several important initiatives of government of India. He led several important project for ministry of home affairs. He was the principal investigator who examined the impact of Prime Minister of India's Mann Ki Baat (Direct talk with people of India) initiative which demonstrated the reach of PM to more than 410 million listeners.[12]
Awards and recognitions
In 2019, Sharma received the Education Leadership Award for his work as Director, IIM, Rohtak.[13]
Controversies
His lawsuits before the Punjab and Haryana High Courts and Rohtak district court involve various cases including sexual harassment[14] and being unsuited for the office of director.[15][16]
