Dead Man (Korean데드맨) is a 2024 South Korean crime thriller film directed by Ha Joon-won, starring Cho Jin-woong, Kim Hee-ae and Lee Soo-kyung. It was released on February 7, 2024.[2]

Premise

The story of an ace in the so-called barge business world who makes money based on his name, but after being falsely accused of embezzling 100 billion won and forced to live as a "dead person", he goes on a hunt to regain the life that was stolen from him by people who are tied to him with just one name.

Cast

  • Cho Jin-woong as Lee Man-jae, a man who made a living selling his name but was falsely accused and became a "dead man".
  • Kim Hee-ae as Mrs. Shim (Shim Eun-jo), a consultant who dominates the political world with her natural resourcefulness and tenacity.
  • Lee Soo-kyung as Gong Hee-joo, who vows revenge after losing her father.
  • Choi Soo-young as Hipster, MD of a famous and popular club and is connected to the barge business world.
  • Choi Jae-Woong as Representative Hwang, a member of the National Assembly who has gained infinite trust through his passion and conviction.
  • Park Ho-san as Jo Pil-joo, chairman of the support committee during the day, so-called "Laundry Joe" who launders enormous political funds at night.
  • Kim Won-hae as Gong Moon-sik, who appointed Lee Man-jae to the position of CEO of the venture company Spotek.
  • Lee Si-Hoon as the broker who introduced Lee Man-jae to sell his name.
  • Jeon Moo-song as the sealer who sold him his seal and explained his name.
  • Yoo Yeon-soo as Yoon Seong-su

Production

Principal photography began in November 2021 and ended in February 2022.

Box office

As of February 7, 2024, Dead Man has grossed $1.7 million with a running total of 237,563 tickets sold.[3]
