The Commonwealth Coast Conference ice hockey tournament began in 2017 with eight of the ten teams qualifying for the postseason. The field was reduced to 6 teams beginning in 2019. The 2021 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 season saw the tournament briefly change to an 8-team format before returning to its 6-team arrangement.
