Early life

Chalk studied at Asheville High School, graduating in 1996[1] and earned a BFA in acting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001.[2]


Chalk is known for roles such as journalist Gary Cooper in The Newsroom,[3] Marine Tom Walker in Homeland,[4] and murderer Jody Adair in Justified.[1][3] He has also been in multiple Law & Order episodes,[2] the 2013 film 12 Years a Slave,[5] and the 2010 Broadway play Fences.[2] He appears in Gotham as a young Lucius Fox.[6]
