Catch Me If You Can (Russian: Поймай меня, если сможешь, romanizedPoymay menya, yesli smozhesh')[1] is an upcoming Russian television mystery music game show modeled on Ya vizhu tvoy golos[2][3] and Giọng ải giọng ai,[4][5] assigning as a unofficial adaptation of the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice.[6][7] It is scheduled to premiere on Rossiya-1 in 2024.

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a team of "stars" (consisting of guest artists) must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, while a team of "fans" (consisting of ordinary people) try to convince that the singer was "good", over the course of several rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of performing itself, depending on the team of guest artists' choice.[a]

Rewards

If the singer is good, the team of guest artists win 1,000,000 ; if the singer is bad, the same amount is given to team of ordinary people instead.

Rounds

Each episode presents the opposing teams with unknown number of people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain to be chosen by a team of guest artists for a final performance.

Notes:

  1. ^ For the show's gameplay changes, based on playing time of an episode:[1][7]
    • The number of mystery singers are set to TBA.
      • Actually, the winning mystery singer can perform freely without accompanying guest artist(s) for a duet;[8] this was introduced when bad singer Kim Joo-young did in the 8th season of original South Korean counterpart.[9]
    • There are two opposing teams[10][11] with each of them having a unique lineup such as "stars" (guest artists) and "fans" (ordinary people), same as used by panelists in the Star Wars special of original South Korean counterpart.[12][13]

Background

Ya vizhu tvoy golos (Russian: Я вижу твой голос) is a official Russian adaptation of I Can See Your Voice licensed under Fremantle from CJ ENM's deal,[2][14] which premiered on 14 May 2021.[3] VGTRK has supposedly planned to renew for a second season,[15][6] but was later decided to continue the show anyway without involving production from the South Korean company, which is actually a domestic response to their invasion of Ukraine.[1][7] It is produced by Good Team Productions.
