Canby is an unincorporated rural hamlet in Adair County, in the U.S. state of Iowa.[1] A farmers' cooperative is located there, also a church, and a couple of homes, surrounded by extensive fields on all sides.

History

A post office called Canby was established in 1873, and remained in operation until 1908.[2] A Quaker church of friends still stands near the town site.[3] Canby's population was 13 in 1902,[4] and 25 in 1925.[5]

Little remains of the original community.[6]
