From 2010 to 2017, Murphy was an actor and writer for CollegeHumor. In 2015, he hosted Middle of the Night Show, a late-night television series on MTV. Murphy has two credits on IMBD to "Adam Ruins Everything", an American educational comedy television series that ran from 2015 through 2019 on TruTV. He played the role of "Murph" in the video titled "Adam Ruins Football"(2016) and again the role of "Murph" on the video "Adam Ruins Having a Baby"(2017).
