Hello everybody I get many students and viewers from the country of Brazil so I thought it's time to learn a little bit about this south American country and it is the biggest one big things are happening in this country in 2014 the world cup will be there in 2016 the Olympics will be in Rio Brazil why is Brazil on the world map well it's this thing called gross domestic product and the definition of gross domestic product is the total value of goods produced and services provided in a country during one year so it's all of the things that a country in this case Brazil sells in one year if you look right here in the year 2010 and this right here is a table or a chart you can see that Brazil gross domestic product is about $2,000,000,000,000 trillion each year and that is in 2010 however if you look at the year 2050 brazil will be the fourth largest economy or gross domestic product in the year 2050 in 2010 Brazil is the seventh biggest economy in the world but in 2050 it is the fourth biggest economy in the world and you can see from this chart here that Brazil is the fourth in 2050 China will be number one the United States two India three and Brazil will be number four people always think of Brazil as selling coffee but the main industries is textiles and lumber are chemicals iron ore in fact if you look at export Brazil export an export means which you sell the opposite is to import it's what you buy in the country the biggest exporter is iron and and oil and petroleum coffee is only 2.6% in fact the biggest company in Brazil Petrobras and the the second Vale have to do with oil and mining they mine iron ore this is iron ore and this is the mining mining we call that that they do with iron here is the Brazilian flag and the capital of Brazil is Brasilia but the largest city is Sau Paulo here is Brasilia the capital and here is Sau Paulo and Rio De Janeiro are also very popular in the official language is Portuguese and the ethnic groups are white pardo black Asian and American Indian I have never heard of pardo so I looked it up and pardo deals with skin color or race and your skin, this is your skin, on your body skin skin skin pardo is a term for shades of brown so that different colors of skin so you have white black east Asian and then Ameriindian the population of Brazil right now is 193,000,000 946,000 886 the currency of Brazil is the real and you can see the currency right here the Brazilian real here is some bills we call that bills and here are some coins of the real some popular music of Brazil you might have heard and I'll just play quick sample of it you might have heard that another is Samba very popular that comes out of Brazil and that's an example of some Samba but like every country in the world Brazil has many modern music differences anywhere from jazz to rock to rap music here is an example of cuisine or food from Brazil I don't know if I pronounced that right it's a dish made with black beans pork which is like a pig pork rice year's rice collard greens cassava flour and orange so this might be some cuisine you could see in Brazil and of course there is always soccer so down below you'll see right here I made a special video for soccer and overhear down here I'll have a video about the best sites or UNESCO world heritage to heritage places in Brazil so click here and here and you can see soccer and beautiful places of Brazil and I know I missed a lot from Brazil so I hope nobody is offended if you like this you learn something from Brazil hit the like button and subscribe and I will make many many more travel videos to help you with your English so thanks so much for your time take care bye bye
