Asher Chazen Grodman[1] (born July 28, 1987) is an American actor and producer who stars in the CBS series Ghosts.[2]

Early life and education

Grodman was born in New York City. His father, Marc Grodman, an assistant professor at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is the founder of BioReference, a biotech company and led several biotech companies including GeneDx and Genosity.[3][4] Raised in Califon, New Jersey as "the one Jew in a very, very not Jewish community", Grodman attended Far Hills Country Day School and Newark Academy.[5] He graduated from Columbia University in 2010 with a degree in film and English.[6][7] He was a member of Columbia's varsity fencing team.[1] Grodman also holds a MFA from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.[8]

Grodman is of Jewish background.[9]

Career

Grodman wrote, directed, and produced The Train, a short film starring Emmy Award-winning actor Eli Wallach.[10] The film was featured in film festivals such as the Cleveland International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Sedona International Film Festival, and the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Grodman stars in the CBS series Ghosts, where he plays the character of Trevor, a Wall Street stockbroker from the 1990s.[11][12]

Grodman is an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College and he also taught acting to inmates in Rikers Island.[13][14]

Personal life

Since 1995, Grodman has been a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has attended their games in Jacksonville, New England, Los Angeles, and London.[15] He also wrote, starred in, and co-directed the Jaguars' 2023 schedule release video.[16]
