Asara Rural District (Persian: دهستان آسارا) is in Asara District of Karaj County, Alborz province, Iran.[3] It is administered from the city of Asara.[4]

At the census of 2006, its population (as a part of Tehran province) was 3,780 in 1,109 households.[5] I the most recent census of 2016, the population was 3,063 people in 1,101 households, by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[6] The largest of its 11 villages was Shahrestanak, with 1,307 people.[2]
