Arild Haugen

Arild "Hulk" Haugen (born 30 December 1985) is a former strongman and currently a professional boxer from Sirdal, Norway. He set the Guinness World Record for being the youngest World's Strongest Man competitor at the age of 20 years, 258 days during 2006 World's Strongest Man group 1.[1] He currently lives in Sandnes, Rogaland.[2]

Haugen stands 1.89 m (6 ft 2 in) tall and weighs approximately 118 kilograms (260 lb).[citation needed] He was capable of squatting 370 kilograms (820 lb), a deadlift of 400 kilograms (880 lb), and a bench press of 250 kilograms (550 lb).[3] It was suggested that Haugen has much potential, and in future strongman competitions would rival the impressive records set by Mariusz Pudzianowski; indeed his performance in the 2008 WSM contest caught the attention of many, breaking the world record for the Atlas Stones (100 to 180 kg set/ light set) in his heat with an absurd time of 16.14 seconds to successfully make the final (he would also post the fastest time in the Atlas Stones in the final with 19.85 seconds). Haugen retired from strongman in the same year and moved to boxing.

Haugen's first career fight was on 11 December 2009 against Latvian Pāvels Dolgovs. He won by knockout 45 seconds into the first round.[4] Haugen officially became a member of TreyWay Maudland after his first fight.
