Crash

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. On 20 May 2023, at 12:10 pm GMT an EF-18 from the 15th fighter wing of the Spanish Air and Space Force[2] was carrying out acrobatic maneuvers in preparation for a flying exhibit.[3] it was seen steeply ascending when it stalled and went into a steep dive[1] after the pilot suffered "some problem" according to the Zaragoza Civil Guard Command.[4] The pilot was able to successfully eject suffering injuries to his leg and landed just outside the airport fence.[5]

Pilot

The aircraft was piloted by Captain Daniel Pérez Carmona of the Spanish Air and Space Force's 15th Wing (Ala 15), an F-18 flight instructor with 15 years of experience and more than 1,000 flight hours.[6]
