i've always uh... been in support of well drafted legislation to uh... allow physicians to assisted patients and death uh... obviously uh... patients whom specific carefully controlled guidelines i favor the current ballot proposal i think that uh... it offers uh... patients the compassionate uh... out later a skate if you will uh... who are suffering optically suffering in ways that uh... we can't do uh... too much about we meaning that it's uh... medical people in other care givers we can't always be completely convinced a that uh... uh... that's somewhat beyond that someone's gonna die exactly on schedule in hospice we face this for a long time because the medicare hospice bait benefit is is uh... contingent upon the position providing an estimated life expectancy of six months or less much like the bill question uh... that's sad the majority of hospice patients are dead within six month period the ones who aren't uh... do you want to know how many are going to be alive after say one-year were here and a half almost none i find it objectionable that people use the term physician assisted suicide uh... and uh... find that uh... you even more objectionable that day uh... condom criticize us for wanting to call at this issue assisted death i think it's important to make the distinction i think it is a real distinction uh... if some guy decides that you know he's uh... you know just tired of of living and you know works of parks his car next to a bridge walks onto the bridge in jumps off at suicide someone uh... you know holds a gun to their uh... their head and says uh... you know screw this site habit um... that suicide we're not talking about people who were capable of uh... you know just having a bad hair day and going up and getting a governor jumping off a bridge we're talking about people who art terminally ill who are faced with certain death and want to simply preclude the uh... the possibility that the rest of their days are going to be spent you know deteriorating in getting worse and worse and worse so i think if you look needed they will billy wilder on death yes just like the guy who jumped off the bridge but if you want but was too just to get there you know that's kind of va you know that's kind of like uh... deciding to core an apple or watermelon just because they both happened to be fruit and have cd's you know it does it's theirs they were big differences there
