The 2008 Central Michigan Chippewas football team represented Central Michigan University during the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Central Michigan competed as a member of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The Chippewas were led by second-year head coach Butch Jones.

Central Michigan finished the regular season with an 8–4 overall record and 6–2 in conference play, which was good enough for second place in the MAC West. The team received a second straight bid to the Motor City Bowl,[1] where they faced the Florida Atlantic Owls led by head coach Howard Schnellenberger. The two teams were tied throughout the third quarter until the Owls pulled away. Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour led a touchdown drive in the final three minutes, but an onside kick attempt failed, and the Chippewas lost, 24–21.[2]

Transcription

marching band is if you break it down is marching and music so not only do you have the challenging ideas and technique to apply to playing music you also have to apply it to moving keeping to the tempo and keeping a great posture. i think it is of huge importance to the Chippewa pride and also to the culture because not only do we provide spirit to the stadium for the football team we also work as a home base for people in collaboration to support to each other and there are tons of different majors in the band. I think there is over 100 different majors working together and we get to bring people together from all over the state or out of the state get to work with each other and enjoy music and providing that spirit that we need on game day to support the team. and also to get the students involved which is really important we want students involved in everything, not just in the football game but also crossed campus. I love playing the fight song, as soon as we score a touchdown im always pumped to pick up my arms and begin the band to start the fight song and see the students section cheering right along with us. I want to provide the best I can for the band cause they have been a huge support system for me and they are a family for me and I will do anything for them cause that is the greatest moment for me and then receiving the support back from them. Im Julie, the drum major the band and a CMU Chippewa
