The Wyoming United States House special election for 1989 was held on April 25, 1989. Representative Dick Cheney had resigned in order to take the position of Secretary of Defense in George H. W. Bush`s administration. State Representative Craig L. Thomas defeated John P. Vinich with 52.55% of the vote. This was also the first election that white nationalist William Daniel Johnson ran in.
