Zaveštanje (Serbian Cyrillic: Завештање) is a Serbian documentary film from 2016 directed by Ivan Jović [sr].

In the film, the survivors of death camps of the Independent State of Croatia talk to the camera about the suffering they faced, the people who helped them, their families, and how to live again.[1] The director does not use archival material, photographs or historical footage. Stylistically, the film is close to most significant Holocaust film Shoa.[2]

The duration of the documentary film was reduced from the recorded 450 hours of material and 94 interviews.[3][4][5]

It premiered in Belgrade in late 2016.[6] The international premiere was at the Moscow Film Festival in June 2017.[6] Zaveštanje was shown in Balkan countries, Austria, Sweden, Israel, Australia. It was shown twice as part of Privrednik's tribunes in Zagreb.[6]

The complete material will be kept at Yad Vashem in Israel[3] as well as in the collection of the Audio-Visual History Archive of the Charles University in Prague (Malach Center for Visual History).[6]

The film was shot in the period from 2012 to 2015 in Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Hetin, Čestereg, Ritopek, Žitište, Boleč, Ruma) and Republika Srpska (Banja Luka, Prijedor, Kozarska Dubica and surroundings).[1]

Bequest was realized by production companies Cinnamon Films and Terirem produkcija. The post-production of the film was done by Living Pictures.[7]

Sequels of the film are planned.
