Taqanak (Persian: طاقانك)[a] is a city in the Central District of Shahrekord County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Taqanak Rural District.[4] The city is populated by Turkic people.[5]

At the 2006 census, its population was 5,504 in 1,433 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 5,941 people in 1,717 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,170 people in 1,942 households.[2]
