History and profile

The first issue of Square Mile was published in July 2005.[2] The magazine was launched by Square Up Media in London, which was founded by Tim Slee and Stephen Murphy.[3] It was taken over by Threadneedle Media in 2020.[4] The magazine is edited by Mark Hedley, who helped launch the first issue – and has worked on every issue since.[5] Hedley won Editor of the Year 2014 at the PPA Independent Publisher Awards,[6] and was shortlisted at the BSME Editor of the Year 2015.[7] He is now managing director of Square Mile's publisher, Threadneedle Media.
