The SNHU Online Learning Experience
Transcription
Southern New Hampshire University, when it comes to online education, is top of the league. They care about the student. The support system there is awesome, I went to colleges before where you're just a number and there it was personal. The online classes at SNHU made it very possible to attend because as long as I had a wireless connection anywhere I went I could log on and do my homework and my coursework. You have a username and login, just like you're gonna sign in any other kind of website, and instantly you're there. At the beginning of each week, everything is laid out for you in your module so you can plan your time according. The assignments are manageable. They're definitely challenging but they're manageable and the curriculum is there to help you. Any given week I'm given discussion questions and that's how you communicate with the other students and it's a way for your instructor to know if you're grasping the information of that course. There's usually a short paper due, maybe a group project that you collaborating with some of your classmates with, and also there's usually a couple bigger assignments that are due toward the end term that you're working on throughout the entire semester. And its very user friendly and the best part is, even if you're not sure what assignment is due, it's an email away to your professor or discussion board link away to your professor and you get instant response and feedback. Everyone's time is important and when you have questions or you need guidance, they're able to give it to you in a timely fashion. You always had contact with your advisor, and the advisor then could source you out to other resources to help you through anything. Southern New Hampshire University has been committed to my success and they've been committed when it comes to weekend phone calls when I need help and my academic advisor is there, available on the weekend. To my surprise it with still very hands-on even though it was online. The online learning environment isn't scary it's not at all, you can always have open communication with your professor as well as your advisor. I don't go to school on campus. I go to school online. I may be sitting here in Kingsland Georgia nowhere near New Hampshire but I still feel like I'm part of Southern New Hampshire Univeristy. I still feel like I'm part of that campus, I still feel like I am part of University. They're committed to me being well-prepared and giving me all the tools needed for me to be successful. They're there by my side and allow me to succeed on my own but never let me fail because they're always there to catch me.
