PM Gati Shakti

In March 2024, Ramco Cements began moving crushed limestone from its mines in Badawada, Madhya Pradesh, to its cement plant in Jayanthipuram, Andhra Pradesh using the freight corridor inaugurated by the Prime Minister under the PM Gati Shakti cargo terminal project.[3] PM Gati Shakti is an Indian megaproject launched on 13 October 2021 to provide "multimodal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones".[4] It is described as a "first-of-its-kind project" in India, where an electric train is to be used to transport the crushed limestone in an "environment [sic] friendly manner".[3]
