Creswell Crags The Ochre Horse This original fragment of a rib bone contains the oldest known carving of its type in Britain. The horse was carved approximately 12,500 years ago and was on temporary display at the small museum at Creswell Crags to November 2009 (although a replica of the ochre horse is always on display). It was found on the 29th June in 1876 at the back of the western chamber in the 'Robin Hood Cave' in Creswell Crags.
