Deutsch: Die Vorderseite zeigt eine Büste Winckelmanns umgeben von einer Legende, die seinen Namen nennt. Der französische Medailleur Armand Auguste Caqué signierte unterhalb der Büste. Die Rückseite nennt auf Latein seinen Geburtsort sowie Geburts- und Sterbedatum. Darunter befindet sich der Verweis auf die Zugehörigkeit zu einer Medaillenserie. Abschließend sind Prägejahr und mit Amédée Durand der Herausgeber der Serie genannt.
English: The front side depicts a bust of Winckelmann surrounded by his name. Below the engraver Armand Auguste Caqué signed. The back side lists his place of birth as well as his year of birth and death. Below the name the series this medal belongs to is given. Finally we find the year of coinage and the name of the editor, Amédée Durand, of said series.
