In passato tale figura è stata identificata in modo erroneo con Gilgameš; in realtà si tratta di una figura risalente al periodo protodinastico e utilizzata nei rilievi di Šarrukin (Khorsabad) per decorare i prospetti esterni delle corti, vedi Enrico Ascalone, Mesopotamia, Milano, Electa, 2005, p.15
