English: Beaded Crown (Ade) of Onijagbo Obasoro Alowolodu, Ogoga of Ikere 1890-1928
Description
English: Conical basketry frame covered by a stiffened cloth base which is embroidered with glass beads: white, blue, green, pink, red-orange, ochre, and violet. Its relief decoration is also beaded. The top of the crown is surrmounted by four abstract birds. The top tier of the headdress is decorated with two opposed frontal faces. The second and third tiers are each decorated with four frontal faces. The faces are spaced by panels containing geometric patterns. CONDITION: Good, but lacking flaps and two of the wooden bird beaks are missing.
