Photograph taken by Richard Chambers, March 2006, of the jump wings| of Private William (Bill) Wheeler who served in 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Mr. Wheeler made two combat jumps as indicated by the two bronze stars on his wings, one for D-Day of the Battle of Normandy| in which he jumped as a pathfinder| and one for Operation Market Garden in which he jumped as a parachute infantryman.
