Anastasia Andreyevna Bryukhanova (Russian: Анастасия Андреевна Брюханова; born 1 September 1993) is a Russian politician.[1] She previously served as a municipal deputy of Shchukino District in Moscow from 2016 to 2021. She is also the coordinator of the network of local branches of the non-profit foundation "City Projects of Ilya Varlamov and Maxim Katz", and the co-author of the YouTube channel "Obyektiv" ("Lens" in Russian).[2]

Career

In 2019, Bryukhanova was nominated for the election of deputies of the Moscow City Duma of the 6th convocation, but was not registered for participation by the election commission.[3] In 2020, she was expelled from the Yabloko party for factionalism.[4]

In 2021, she participated in the elections to the State Duma of the 8th convocation in the Leningradsky constituency in the north of Moscow.[1][5] She lost to Galina Khovanskaya, receiving over 23% of the vote.[6]

Shortly after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, she and her colleague, Ekaterina Voropai, left Russia to Georgia.

In April 2023, a criminal case on charges of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army was opened against Bryukhanova.[7] Due to the extradition agreement between Russia and Georgia, she decided to immigrate again, this time to Germany. Voropai followed suit shortly after. On 21 July, Bryukhanova was ruled by Moscow's Khoroshevsky District Court to be arrested in absentia.[8] On 27 December, an international arrest warrant was issued by Russian authorities.[9]
