History

ASA was founded in 1993 by a group of Dalit students at Hyderabad Central University, led by PhD scholar Rajasekhar.[5][6]

Role

ASA is active in University of Hyderabad,[5] University of Mumbai,[7] Pondicherry University,[8] Tata Institute of Social Sciences,[9] Central University of Gujarat,[10] Central University of Kerala[11] and Panjab University.[12] ASA conducts regular seminars and events on Ambedkarism[13][14] and protests.[15][16][17] It also works for scholarships[18] and fee issues of SC/ST/Blind students.[19] ASA actively works for implementation of reservation policy on campus[20] and against incidents of caste discrimination on campus.[21]
