History
In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1567. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary.
Geography
The municipality lies at an altitude of 380 metres and covers an area of 9.029 km2. It has a population of about 155 people.
