The Tunis–Carthage Marathon (French: Marathon de Tunis–Carthage[b]) is an annual road-based marathon hosted by Tunis, Tunisia, since 1986.[1][4][5] The marathon is a World Athletics Label Road Race and a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.[3][6] During the race weekend, a half marathon, a 10K race, and a 5K race are also offered.[2]

History

The inaugural race was held on 15 October 1986 as the "COMAR Marathon".[1][7][a] Tunisian runner Houcine Makni won the marathon with a finish time of 2:46:48.[1][7][c]
