UNH has demonstrated to me that now is the time to make this investment in the future of New Hampshire and the people of the region. We are about to create a new college housed in its own state of the art facility. It's January. I got about 10 more months. Today, I'm pleased to thank all of those who helped bring the new Paul College to a completion. [APPLAUSE] When you come into this building, you just go, wow, this is something special. And it's really happening here. The students absolutely love the Paul College. It gives us the opportunity to really accommodate all of our students here. It adds a real sense of community to the college. And this is something that we lacked when we were in McConnell Hall. The open space that we have, they really just love to be here. They love to be around each other, around the faculty. They can relax here. They can drink coffee here. They can talk here. It's definitely exciting to know that we were finally going to have the resources in the building that matched our curriculum and that matched our reputation. We want this building to sort of be the heartbeat of business on campus. And it was designed to enable us to bring the community in. Almost immediately, that particular building has become the go-to place on campus. It's as if in some ways, it's been here forever because it seems to be such now a magnet and a familiar place for students, not just from the business school, but from all over campus. Living next to the construction project-- it was interesting, let me put it that way. We have to remember to thank Mark and his family for tolerating all the window rattling that went on. On the one hand, it was marvelous to be up close and personal watching this incredible building come into being. [WARNING SHOUT] On the other hand, it was challenging to be up close and personal with some major explosions. OK. No heads up. Here we go. I enjoyed being involved. Crane's a trip. You know, it was a nice new one with all kinds of computer controls. And I think the world was safe when I was spinning it around. I looked at the planning process. I visited frequently. I put on many hard hats and vests and climbed around this building. They were a first-class group. And as you see, they put together a first-class project. This building really reflects how business education should be done and will be done. Facilities make a difference. Not only just the beautiful building, but the technology that's built in this building, it's really what we work in in the real business world, in terms of integrating technology into everything you do. Efficiency's obviously a critical thing. Having a state of the art facility like the Paul College here at the University of New Hampshire is really going to help attract the next generation of students to the college. And it's going to prepare them to help meet the real world needs that we have in the business community in having that educated workforce that is so essential. If It's going to make a big difference for the business college, but I think it's going to make a major difference for the whole university. Being able to show prospective students this building, I think you can really see the value of it. And being able to show someone the Bloomberg terminals and the break-out rooms in the cafe, this is a space you want to be in. The way that we communicate is changing rapidly. And I think having an environment like this, where we have all the technology in place, where we can implement and keep up with the latest trends in the business world, is going to be extremely beneficial to our students. Follow through. [APPLAUSE] It's hard to overstate the importance of Peter's gift to the University of New Hampshire. It's one of those once in a lifetime gifts for a university and one that changes the landscape. It makes such a huge difference and has such a huge impact on so many people. Peter Paul, his generosity is just off the charts, the fact that he was willing to step up and do this. What a gift he has given to all of us. He's given a gift to the university for today. But more importantly. he's given us a gift for the future. Welcome to the new Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. This is my best investment ever. Enjoy. Well.
