The Kazakh pika (Ochotona opaca) is a species of pika endemic to Kazakhstan.[1] It is found at the elevation of 400–1,000 m (1,300–3,300 ft) in semi-desert areas with rocks and shrubs.[2]
Description
The Kazakh pika is medium-sized. Dorsal fur is ocherous gray. Ventral fur is sandy or whitish. Winter dorsal fur is long, soft, and yellowish gray; belly is whitish. Hairs above neck gland form small brown patch. Ears are rounded, with light margins.[2]
