| Inscriptions | Mas facil a la comprension del estudio que a la creencia de un simple relato, es de los mas brillantes que pueden leerse en los anales maritimos del mundo. Mandaba una nave de alto bordo en la armada que se dirigia al ataque de Previsa, pero habiendose separando fue a dar contra todo el poder de las galeras de Barbarroja, que no eran menos de 160. Cuarenta y ocho horas duro la pelea, y al cabo de ellas la nave desarbolada y rota, pero con cuatrocientas cabezas de enemigos por trofeo, salio de entre aquella multitud que, aterrada o generosa, no insistio mas en el ataque. La muchedumbre, sin duda, fue parte para que la nave pudiera defenderse de tantos contrarios, que no a todos a la vez era posible acometerla, mas de cualquier modo el suceso e superior a cuanto humana constancia permite, y consignarlo es sagrada deuda que reclama la memoria de tan singular hazana.
